Dalam kunjungannya, Gibran melakukan pertemuan dengan perwakilan berbagai etnis dan agama masyarakat Singkawang di kediaman Keluarga Besar Marga Chai.
Gibran mengapresiasi kerukunan masyarakat Kota Singkawang. Dia menyebut Pemerintah Kota Solo menjadikan Kota Solo sebagai percontohan untuk menjaga kerukunan masyarakat.
“Untuk masalah komunikasi antar etnis, antar tokoh agama, kami mengikuti Singkawang. Singkawang ini luar biasa, jadi percontohan,” kata Gibran.
Gibran berterima kasih karena sudah bisa bersilaturahmi dengan tokoh dan masyarakat Singkawang. Ia juga sempat melihat produk dan berbincang dengan para pelaku UMKM. Menurut Gibran, UMKM di Singkawang perlu inkubasi agar terus berkembang.
“Biar bisa dikawal dari A sampai Z. Produknya, kemasannya, digital marketingnya, brandingnya. Nanti bisa dicarikan off taker-nya,” ujar Gibran.
Menurut Gibran, cara-cara tersebut ia tempuh untuk mengangkat UMKM di Kota Solo. “Kalau di Solo sudah sampai ekspor juga. Kita juga ikut pameran. Jadi harus ada inkubasinya,” kata Gibran.
